Code2Play – Game Development Challenge

Description

Code2Play is an accelerated and collaborative game development challenge where programmers, game designers, artists, storytellers, and sound creators come together to transform creative ideas into playable games within a limited timeframe.

The challenge begins with a surprise theme revealed at the kickoff, encouraging participants to think creatively, experiment with unconventional concepts, and rapidly transform their ideas into functional game prototypes.

Participants may compete individually or in small teams of 2–4 members, taking their games through the complete development process, including:

  • Ideation and concept development
  • Game design
  • Programming
  • Asset creation
  • Storytelling
  • Sound design
  • Testing and debugging
  • Refinement and final submission

More than just a competition, Code2Play is a creative playground that encourages participants to experiment with game engines, emerging technologies, interactive storytelling, and innovative gameplay mechanics.

The challenge focuses on creativity, collaboration, rapid prototyping, experimentation, and learning rather than commercial-level polish. Participants are encouraged to take risks, explore new ideas, and turn their imagination into an interactive gaming experience.
