CodeOps Arena
CodeOps Arena: The Ultimate Software Engineering Challenge
Build. Break. Debug. Survive.
CodeOps Arena is an immersive software engineering simulation designed to test participants' programming skills, debugging ability, system thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and decision-making under pressure.
Each team will operate as a software engineering team responsible for developing and maintaining a digital product. Throughout the event, teams will encounter unexpected bug reports, feature requests, production incidents, security alerts, performance issues, and changing customer requirements.
Teams must analyse situations, prioritize tasks, modify their systems, and keep their applications running successfully.
The objective is not simply to write the most code, but to build the most valuable, reliable, and high-performing system under pressure.
Key Challenges
Teams will be required to:
- Fix bugs
- Implement new features
- Improve application performance
- Resolve production failures
- Handle security vulnerabilities
- Pass automated test cases
- Respond to changing requirements
- Make strategic technical decisions under pressure
Each team will start with a basic software product, source code, documentation, development tools, hidden automated tests, and 100 Tech Credits. Teams must strategically use their credits throughout the competition.
The system will be evaluated based on:
- Functional correctness
- Test cases passed
- Code quality
- Performance
- Security
- Feature completion
The event combines software development, debugging, system design, teamwork, and real-time decision-making to simulate the challenges faced by modern software engineering teams.
